The Society of St. Vincent de Paul depends on the time and passion of its many, many members.
Members have direct contact with the poor, packing and delivering emergency food hampers, and visiting people in their homes. Other tasks include stocking food pantry shelves and participating in parish food drives. Members meet monthly to deepen their faith and organize their mission.
Training provided!
All Vincentians are asked to participate in a formal police security check and will receive vulnerable persons training through an on-line course offered through the Calgary Catholic Diocese. The on-line modules are easy to complete, take less than two hours and prepare Vincentians to work with vulnerable Calgarians.
Join a board
Members with board-level skills are also welcome!
As non-profit charities, the Calgary Diocese Central Council, West, North and South Particular Councils, and parish based Conferences are each governed by boards that include a president, treasurer and secretary to meet CRA requirements.
